Job Summary:
The Bronx County District Attorney’s Office seeks well-qualified individuals whose diverse backgrounds contribute to serving the 1.5 million members of the Bronx County community and to pursuing a safer Bronx through fair justice. The Bronx District Attorney’s Office is seeking a Research and Analysis of Digital Evidence (RADE) Intern. The Digital Forensics Laboratory (DFL) is a unit within the Technical Investigations Bureau (TIB) that is responsible for forensically analyzing various types of digital evidence, including cell phones, computers, tablets, cloud service provider returns, and vehicle infotainment systems. The DFL also provides investigative support to office-wide ADAs and Investigators, including call detail records, historical cell site analysis, and social media analysis. DFL is the first accredited digital forensics laboratory in a prosecutor’s office in New York State.
Program Overview:
- Verification of Forensic Tools - including Cellebrite, Magnet, and Oxygen
- Artifact Research of IOS and Android, and Windows devices
- Develop custom python scripts to support unsupported 3rd party applications
- Laboratory Management, including participating in laboratory audit
- Build and repair custom forensic workstations
Job Qualifications:
- Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
- Must be a rising Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student
- Must be in academic good standing with a preferred 3.0 GPA or above
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Pursuing a degree in Cyber Security, Cyber Forensics, Digital Forensics, or a related field
- Completed courses in digital forensics and evidence management
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and be detail-oriented.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong attention to detail; proactive and self-motivated
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment, with clear, professional communication
