JOB SUMMARY:
Manage the day to day assigned to the unit in collaboration with the bureau chief and executives (office coverage, work assignments, work schedules, training, annual and quarterly evaluations, supply orders and timesheets.)
The Community Coordinator position serves as the supervisor and principal intelligence analyst of the Crime Strategies Unit under the Strategic Enforcement Division of the Bronx District Attorney’s Office. The Crime Strategies Unit supports intelligence and crime analysis functions and coordinates crime mapping and other analytical application. Under general supervision, the Community Coordinator (Principal Intelligence Analyst) will assist the Strategic Enforcement Division and other personnel in planning the deployment of resources for the prevention and suppression of criminal activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in developing, motivating, and leading the intelligence analysis team including daily supervision of crime/intelligence analysts, focusing of resources, and evaluation of team members.

Performs research, compiles and analyzes complex information/data regarding geographical information system (GIS) management; gathers relevant data, information and/or documentation from a variety of sources; performs high level and highly complex Intelligence Analysis Program development and design.

Performs and supervises difficult, complex, and sensitive projects and negotiations; recommends for the use of best practices and innovation in prosecutorial analytical techniques; has great independence of action and consequence of error in formulating recommendations for management.

Coordinates, analyzes, evaluates, and interprets intelligence and crime data in preparing routine and special reports for the benefit of legal, investigative, and support personnel.

Prepares difficult, complex ad hoc reports produced on a daily, monthly and annual basis; compiles crime analysis and intelligence data; presents background information and description of analytical standards; outlines findings indicating crime patterns/trends; writes final reports and documentation; presents reports which may include formal presentations; performs statistical and spatial analysis.

Interprets the results of intelligence and statistical analysis through presentations of data at meetings or through consultation with legal, investigative and support personnel.

Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.

Back-up digital evidence custodian and examiners to insure evidence intake functions are covered properly, including: scheduling of intake, documentation, photography, and creating case file
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/ QUALIFICATIONS:

Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college (preferably in data science, management or criminal justice). Five years of related experience preferred.

Formal intelligence analysis training and/or certification preferred.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.

Candidates must be highly skilled in standard operating systems and software (Windows, Microsoft office, excel, word and PowerPoint).

Ability to handle multiple challenging assignments, detailed oriented with superior organizational, analytical, writing and communication skills.
