Description

 JOB SUMMARY:

The Data entry Clerk is responsible for Data Entry and routing of approximately 4,000 suspected child abuse reports received from the Administration for Children's Services (ACS) on a yearly basis.

 

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with court staff and judges
  2. Excellent time management skills
  3. Strong desire and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  4. Basic computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
  5. Strong attention to detail

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Specific duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Receive and catalogue all ACS reports into the Child Abuse database.
  2. Distribute the cases to the TPAs in the Child Abuse Response Team
  3. Provide assistance to the Child Abuse / Sex Crimes (CAS) Assistant District Attorneys (ADAs) in obtaining reports from ACS, Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and hospitals.
  4. Close out investigations at their conclusion, collecting monthly statistics from each Trial Preparation Assistant and reporting findings to the supervisor and coordinator.
  5. Organizing, keeping record of, and filing misdemeanor cases and warrants
  6. Order cases from outer office storage
  7. Retrieve cases from other bureaus and deliver cases to other bureaus
  8. Find cases and deliver them to ADAs
  9. Make copies of files and send information to correctional facilities, Office of Mental Health, and ADAs
  10. Perform all other duties as assigned

 

 PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

    16. An Associate’s degree preferred or a High School diploma/GED and a minimum of two (2) years working experience
          in a law firm, governmental agency, civic or community organization

    17. Ability to take initiative to implement systems to ensure that work is done both accurately and efficiently.
