Description


 

The Legal Recruitment Bureau of the Bronx County District Attorney's Office coordinates all legal recruitment for the Office including, on-campus recruitment, lateral and promotional hiring, as well as, overseeing the summer intern and clinical externship programs. The Legal Recruitment Specialist will aid in the implementation of all facets of legal recruitment and will serve as a public face of the Office in recruiting efforts.

 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills

2. Strong computer skills including familiarity and experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Pro

3. Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize workloads.

 

 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

4. Coordinate on-campus and call-back interviews through law schools; work with the law schools regarding their on campus interview (OCI) process, effective recruitment methods, and candidate-specific issues

5. Organize materials for each interview level using paperless system.

6. Attend job fairs and recruit candidates.

7. Train interviewers in interview protocols and procedures.

8. Help coordinate Summer Intern Program including event planning, work assignment allocation, coordinating work evaluations and processing final reviews.

9. Assisting with orientation, offers, tracking attendance at events, and working with outside agencies.

10. Input data in our applicant tracking system, arrange interviews, manage due diligence processes and prepare offer letters.

11. Aid in preparation of legal hiring statistics, update necessary statistical data needed for surveys and reporting materials to senior staff, and Human Resources, when necessary.

12. All other duties as assigned.

 

 PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

13. A Bachelor’s degree preferred or a High School diploma/GED and a minimum of three (3) years working experience in a law firm, governmental agency, civic or community organization

14. Prior legal recruitment experience or law school career services experience strongly preferred.

15. Strong computer skills including proficiency in use of Adobe Pro, Microsoft Office and Outlook

16. Proven candidate sourcing and relationship building skills.

17. Skills in database management and record keeping.
