JOB SUMMARY:
Support Assistant District Attorneys (ADAs) with all aspects of investigations and trial preparation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail
2. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook
4. Discretion and Integrity to work on highly confidential investigations
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
5. Communicate with and acquire documents from other agencies such as NYPD, ACS, OCME, and hospitals
7. Draft legal documents such as Motion Responses, Legal Memorandums, Search Warrants, Subpoenas, and Orders to Produce
8. Perform legal research
9. Engage in witness contact and communication
10. Secure corroborating affidavits
11. Secure, listen to, and transcribe phone calls from the Corrections Department
12. Travel outside the office to other locations and agencies
13. All other duties as assigned
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
14. A baccalaureate degree preferred or a high school diploma with four (4) years of work experience in a law firm, governmental agency, civic or community organization
15. A valid New York State driver’s license with a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience is required and must be maintained for the duration of employment
16. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
17. Familiarity with general court services and functions
18. Fluency in foreign languages preferred
